Concentration methods
The Methods concentration is designed for highly motivated students interested in field research in international affairs either because they are thinking of undertaking a Ph.D. or because the sector in which they would like to work is based on empirical study and demands intense research skills. Future policy makers will also benefit from these teachings that are very much in line with our masters in International Economic Policy, International Development and also International Security. Students who intend to work for international organizations or governmental bodies are indeed given an edge in their career as young professionals if they have acquired solid methodological skills during their graduate studies.
The first semester offers an introductory course dealing with research design whereas the following semesters offer specialized courses that craft skills in various domains such as advanced quantitative methods, qualitative methods, randomized experiments, cartography, etc.
